Gracie Abrams earns biggest career milestone with first No. 1 album
The singer celebrated her first Billboard 200 chart-topper by thanking fans, calling the achievement 'nuts'
Gracie Abrams is celebrating a major career milestone after earning her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Daughter From Hell.
The singer's third studio album debuted at the top of the U.S. albums chart after selling 124,000 equivalent album units during the week ending July 23, marking the biggest opening week of her career.
Abrams previously came close to the top spot when The Secret of Us peaked at No. 2 in July 2024, making her latest achievement her first Billboard 200 chart-topper.
Reacting to the news on Instagram Stories, the singer thanked fans for helping make the milestone possible.
"Whoa, thank you so much," she wrote. "This is nuts, and entirely your doing!! Thank you."
With the achievement, Abrams becomes the sixth artist in 2026 to earn a first-ever No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
The Grammy-nominated singer has continued to rise in the music industry despite ongoing discussions about being a "nepo baby" as the daughter of filmmaker J.J. Abrams and producer Katie McGrath.
Speaking previously on The New York Times' Popcast, Abrams acknowledged the privilege she grew up with, saying she understands the conversation surrounding her background.
She said having financial security gave her the freedom to experiment creatively and dedicate herself to music without worrying about money.
Away from her chart success, Abrams is also making headlines for her relationship with actor Paul Mescal.
The couple collaborated on the song Imaginary Friend, which appears on Daughter From Hell.
Abrams said she chose to openly credit Mescal's involvement because she did not want to hide a part of her life that brings her happiness, adding that no amount of criticism could take away the joy they experienced while creating the song together.
