Oliver Steele speaks in favour of Katy Perry, calls her 'wonderful person'

One of the American Idol finalist, Oliver Steele heaped praise over the  show judge Katy Perry. 

Much of lately, Katy has been on the receiving end of backlash   for her  behavior towards the contestants on sets but Steele gave a sweet recommendation. 

Steele  appeared at the  American Idol Unaired podcast where he recalled fond memories with the California Gurls hit-maker, “I remember day one in Hollywood, I was like, 'Katy, do you mind if we get a photo?' And she was like, 'Yeah, sure, babe, like one second.' Cause they were doing her make-up. And then she was like, 'Alright, let's get that photo' Like she's just super sweet.”

He went on saying, "Katy is reserved and approachable. I was irritated on how she was being treated on the show. She is a wonderful person." 

"She is the cool and funniest person off-camera who has her own way of supporting contestants." 

“I think that's the biggest thing with Katy. She would push you without ever having to say, 'I'm pushing you," added Steele. 

He also came in defense of the  pop singer  with an Instagram post in May where he explained that Perry  was not a bully.
