Isabeau Levito snagged her first Grand Prix Figure Skating Championship on November 5, 2023
Isabeau Levito has become the first US female figure skater to claim first place in the Grand Prix de France 2023.
As reported by US Figure Skating Fanzone, this is Levito’s first gold medal in her career, making her the first US female to bag this achievement in the past seven years.
The talented 16-year-old figure skater made her comeback on Saturday after landing third position on Friday as she messed up her routine.
According to Olympics.com , "I guess we'll call screwing up the second half of my routine a dramatic finish," Levito said.
ISU Figure Skating also uploaded a clip of Levito's routine on Instagram in collaboration with her, praising her technique in the caption, saying, “It’s the intricacies in her skating for us!”
According to the International Skating Union, Levito scored a total of 203.22 points in the final, topping Nina Pinzarrone’s score of 198.80 by 4.42 points and Rion Sumiyoshi’s score of 197.76 by 5.46 points. The two scored second and third positions respectively.
