The King, alongside the President and First Lady of the Republic of Korea, welcomed the globally acclaimed K-Pop group, BLACKPINK, recognizing their exceptional advocacy for the COP26 Summit in Glasgow 2021. 

Initially appointed as advocates by the UK Government in January 2021, BLACKPINK played a pivotal role in galvanizing millions of young individuals worldwide to actively participate in the UN climate change conference, amplifying the conversation on climate action. 

The royal family's Instagram reel celebrated the achievement, extending heartfelt congratulations to Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. 

The caption read, "The King, joined by The President and First Lady of the Republic of Korea, has welcomed special guests @blackpinkofficial to Buckingham Palace, as they are awarded Honorary MBEs."

"The K-Pop band have been awarded these honours in recognition of their role as Advocates for the COP26 Summit in Glasgow 2021," further stated.

This marks a historic acknowledgment of BLACKPINK's influence and commitment to global environmental awareness.
