'The Nvidia Way' author predicts that OpenAI is gearing up to launch a more powerful AI model
Tae Kim, senior tech writer and author of The Nvidia Way, has predicted that OpenAI is gearing up to launch a far more powerful AI model as early as next month.
Speaking to CNBC, Kim said OpenAI will benefit from Nvidia’s new NVL72 AI servers, already being used across Microsoft's data centres, to train its next-generation system.
Kim noted that recent releases from Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude show major benchmark gains, signalling rapid industry-wide progress.
He added that AI adoption is set to accelerate over the next year. “AI progress is accelerating, which is very optimistic for the whole AI industry."
Kim also stressed that the AI boom is nothing like the ‘dot-com’ era, calling today’s valuations a completely different landscape.
