Mark Consuelos honors his father's incredible legacy while finding comfort in his work
On a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, co-host Mark Consuelos opened up about the passing of his father, Saul Consuelos. After a courageous and lengthy battle with illness, Saul passed away peacefully on March 23. Mark remembered his father as a fascinating man who immigrated to the United States from Mexico as a teenager and dedicated thirty years of his life to serving his country. Fighting back tears, Mark described him as the greatest person he has ever known, a sentiment echoed by his wife, Kelly Ripa.
Despite the heavy grief, Mark shared that he was able to travel to say a final goodbye just before making his Broadway debut in Fallen Angels. He noted that the rehearsals and performances have provided a necessary and welcome distraction during this difficult time. Finding strength in his father's memory, Mark expressed his belief that Saul is still with him, watching and remaining a part of his latest creative journey.
