Romy and Michele sequel officially begins filming with original stars returning
Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino reunite for a new quest full of friendship and fun
Thirty years after the original movie became a beloved cult classic, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is finally getting an official sequel. Production has officially kicked off, marked by a fresh photo from 20th Century Studios showing stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino back together and styled in their characters' signature fashion.
Expected to premiere on Hulu in 2027, the highly anticipated film brings back much of the original cast, including Alan Cumming, Janeane Garofalo, and Camryn Manheim, alongside exciting newcomers like Keegan-Michael Key. While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, original writer Robin Schiff has crafted a script that honors the first film.
Fans can look forward to plenty of dancing, laughter, and a brand-new quest driven by Romy’s familiar insecurities. At its heart, the sequel promises to celebrate the enduring, soulmate-level power of female friendship.
