Billy Crystal returns to Broadway with a powerful new show honoring his former home
The legendary actor shares how his upcoming production pays tribute to a personal tragedy
Comedy icon Billy Crystal is heading back to the Broadway stage this October with a deeply personal one-man show titled 860. In an exclusive interview at the Tony Awards, Crystal revealed that the show’s title refers to the address of the home he and his family lost in a devastating wildfire. The performance serves as a tribute to that house, celebrating the joy, love, and growth that happened within its walls, while chronicling the family's journey of pulling themselves back together.
Crystal noted that 860 carries the same spirit as his previous acclaimed work, 700 Sundays. While attending the Tonys to present the award for Best Revival of a Play, the actor also shared brief updates on other projects, including a potential Monsters Inc. 3. Although he hasn’t seen a script yet, he expressed excitement about the possibility of playing Mike Wazowski again. For now, however, his focus remains on this heartfelt return to the theater community.
