Olivia Rodrigo slams ‘competition’ rumors with Billie Eilish
Olivia Rodrigo shared there is no ‘competition’ between Billie Eilish and her, in fact they ‘look out for each other’
Olivia Rodrigo has slammed down "competition" rumors with Billie Eilish and shared they both “look out for each other.”
The Vampire hitmaker was pitted against Billie by netizens after they both released hit albums this year.
During a conversation with The Los Angeles Times on Wednesday, Olivia praised her pal, “Billie is such a kind, wonderful girl, and I feel very lucky that it’s not about competition — that we’re just looking out for each other.”
The Grammy winner then discussed Bilie’s single Happier Than Ever and exclaimed that she “love that song.”
Last month, the Bad Guy crooner explained her “protectiveness” for friend Olivia.
She told the media outlet, “Olivia was getting big, and she was just, like, this little dainty child. I felt so nervous. I was worried about her. She came up in that acting world, and people are so weird. I don’t know — I just felt very protective over her.”
Olivia and Billie received six Grammy nominations this year.
Billie continued, “I have a song called ‘Goldwing’ from my last album that’s kind of about her. I’ve never said that to anyone. I think everybody’s experiences are so individual … Nobody has had anybody else’s life, you know? But I do feel a protectiveness over Olivia.”
The duo also won best pop solo performance award for their hit tracks, Billie for What Was I Made For and Olivia for Vampire.
The songstresses started their music career along the same trajectory—Billie went viral for Ocean Eyes at 15 and Rodrigo with Drivers License at 18.
