Tom Felton kept ‘They Will Kill You’ set laughing with Ukulele songs
Heather Graham reveals Tom Felton brought humor and music to the intense horror film set
Tom Felton brought more than just his acting skills to the set of They Will Kill You, according to his co-star Heather Graham, who says the actor kept the atmosphere light with original ukulele songs.
Speaking after the film’s premiere at the SXSW Conference and Festival, Graham described the Harry Potter alum as both “charming” and “funny,” recalling how he would often break into song between takes.
“He brings his ukulele to work and sings a song about joining a cult,” Graham shared. “He was making us all laugh.”
The lighthearted moments were especially welcome during an otherwise intense shoot. Lead actress Zazie Beetz endured physically demanding scenes, including long 12-hour days and filming in freezing conditions.
Graham noted that Felton made a particular effort to lift Beetz’s spirits, improvising humorous songs about the film’s fictional cult.
“He was trying to entertain Zazie, who was really tired,” she said, adding that his lyrics playfully poked fun at the cult’s absurdity.
In the film, Felton and Graham portray members of a satanic cult, clashing with Beetz’s character, an ex-convict fighting to survive a deadly night.
The cast also includes Myha'la, Patricia Arquette and Paterson Joseph.
Beyond his on-set antics, Graham praised Felton’s professionalism and talent, calling him a “great actor” who balanced humor with a cool, understated demeanor.
She added that he later admitted he had been excited to work with her, despite keeping it low-key during filming.
Directed by Kirill Sokolov, the genre-blending horror film has drawn attention for its unique tone and star-studded cast.
According to Sokolov, the project’s originality sparked enthusiasm among the actors, many of whom were eager to try something new.
They Will Kill You is now playing in theaters.
