Why ‘Diddy’ can still walk free after bombshell testimonies
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial is estimated to last about four more weeks
It is being said that Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is charged with sex trafficking and racketeering, could still walk free.
According to US Weekly, the 55-yer-old rapper, despite being accused of shocking and disturbing allegations and eye-opening testimonies can escape punishment.
“It’s less certain whether or not they’re enough to convict the disgraced music mogul,” according to the publication.
While shedding further light on the matter, it noted that the prosecution has to “prove” that the imprisoned rapper is the leader of a criminal enterprise whose members engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice through the use of violence, threats and coercion.
Explaining it further, criminal attorney, Joshua Ritter, said, “Everything that’s been described by Cassie is deviant and appalling, but it’s not necessarily criminal.”
Until now, all the testimonies in the trial have focused on the domestic violence; however, legal experts note that Diddy isn’t on trial for violence but for sex trafficking.
Regardless of the verdict, Sean “Diddy” Combs will still have to contend with over 70 civil sexual assault lawsuits which his legal team has consistently denied the allegations.
