Lorna, 43, also known as Lorna Andrews, said goodbye to her 64-year-old spouse in February after his courageous fight with cancer.

Before the holiday season, he was diagnosed with neutropenic sepsis, and his frail state prevented him from continuing the chemotherapy for his esophagus and adrenal gland cancer.

The young woman from Manchester has occasionally returned to social media since John’s death and funeral, simply to stay connected with her supporters and provide updates about her own recovery.

Now she has shared her thoughts on their final goodbye, marking the end of a journey that began when they met at a bar in Brighton.

Lorna Luxe reveals 'a sign' from late husband John during Cheltenham Festival

Speaking from their home in Warwickshire, she shared with The Times: “Being there for someone as they die is undoubtedly the toughest thing I've faced.

“Dying is hard work. The body resists it's not a peaceful transition.

“Even John's breathing was labored till the final moments.

“It wasn't like in the movies where you talk until the end and they squeeze your hand back.

“But it was prolonged and sorrowful."

Lorna tended to him in the weeks leading up to his passing, ensuring she was there during his last moments.

Since then, she has unveiled the heartrending method she uses to commemorate him, by wearing his cologne, and spoke of the "sign" from him during her brave appearance at the Cheltenham Festival.

She also recently opened up about the struggles of facing life without him in her forties and has initiated a charity fashion event in Manchester recently.

The fashion icon, who runs her own label LA-S, expressed that John had encouraged her to carry on during his illness and was amazed at her loyalty to him.

Lorna conveyed to The Times: “But rather than moving away, I was even more committed and passionate about his care.

“Looking after him deepened our bond and brought us closer together.

“Throughout the past year, we were the most united we’ve ever been. Our love was stronger than ever.”

Her husband John initially faced a diagnosis of stage three cancer, which progressed to stage four amidst his treatment.

Lorna updated her supporters on his course, who rallied around her when he experienced remission in November 2023.

Unfortunately, his cancer made a return in May 2024, spreading to his brain.

Sadly, just before Christmas, he returned to the hospital due to organ failure, linked to complications from chemotherapy.

Despite being told to brace for the worst, John beat the odds, recuperated, and managed to spend Christmas at home, before passing two months later.
