David Beckham undergoes shocking health scare: Here’s everything to know

David Beckham has been hospitalised after experiencing "unbearable pain," sparking concern among fans.

On Friday, June 28, the 50-year-old former football star’s wife, Victoria Beckham, took to her Instagram stories to share a snap of David lying in a hospital bed wearing a blue sling.

While the 51-year-old fashion designer didn't reveal the full details behind his injury, she wrote under the image, adding, "Get well soon, Daddy."

The other photo featured David’s hand wearing a white beaded bracelet with letters that spelled out, "GET WELL SOON."

According to recent reports, the root of the football icon's health issue stems from an injury he sustained back in 2003 while playing against South Africa.

An X-ray revealed that a screw from his previous wrist surgery had embedded itself into his forearm, requiring the need for an immediate surgery.

A source close to David told The Sun, saying, "David has been in pain for years but thought nothing of it. He just kept going until, in recent months, it became quite unbearable."

The insider added, "A routine scan showed that the pin which was meant to have dissolved, hadn't - so he was booked in to finally resolve the issue all these years later. Victoria was at his bedside post op and all went well. He's in great spirits."

It is to be noted that David Beckham’s injury news comes amid reports of a feud with his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz.
