Kit Harington breaks down Henry’s downfall in ‘Industry’ Season 4 finale

Kit Harington says he’s drawn to complicated characters — and Sir Henry Muck in Industry fits the bill.

After years playing Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, Harington sought roles that were far more flawed.

In the Season 4 finale of the HBO financial drama, Henry’s professional world implodes as Tender’s fraudulent scheme collapses and CFO Whitney Halberstram (Max Minghella) prepares to flee.

“I think he probably fails as a CEO, where he failed as an MP, that he’s so wrapped up in self that he’s not seeing the full picture,” Harington said of Henry’s downfall. He described the character as easily manipulated, particularly by Whitney and his wife Yasmin (Marisa Abela).

The finale sees Henry nearly escape with Whitney before refusing to board a flight to Lithuania using a false identity.

In a rare moment of clarity, he chooses to face the fallout instead. Harington called it a turning point, saying Henry briefly “owns who he is” rather than pretending to be someone else.

Still, the actor questions whether Henry truly learns from his mistakes. He suggested the character’s deep-rooted flaws may keep him trapped in destructive cycles, even if he believes he wants to do good.

As for Henry’s future, Harington remains uncertain whether he’ll return for the show’s final season but praised the series’ creators for giving the character depth.

“I’m looking for all the kind of messed up people,” he said of his post-Thrones career — and Henry may be one of his most tragic yet.
