'Alien: Earth' Season 2 filming begins this spring at London’s Pinewood Studios

Alien: Earth star Sydney Chandler shared during a Texas Film Awards press event that the second season of the FX series created by Noah Hawley is starting in May.

As previously noted, the filming of Alien: Earth is moving from Thailand to Pinewood Studios in London, a location famous for hosting Alien films like the original 1979 movie, Alien³, and the prequel Prometheus.

Chandler mentioned she has not seen any scripts for the second season yet. Rumours about the production's progress have been in the air following an Instagram message shared six days ago by EP/Producing Director Dana Gonzales, stating, “Super excited to start the journey of alienearthfx season 2. World building in the Alien universe birthplace.”

Earlier, Chandler, who also appeared in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, was being celebrated in Austin, TX at the Texas Film Awards with the Rising Star Award.

Additionally, she's being inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame. Chandler, who took up acting during the Covid pandemic, also has a film premiering at SXSW next Thursday, a sci-fi comedy directed by Brian Tetsuro Ivie titled Anima, which tells the story of a young woman and an older man going on a journey to safeguard his consciousness at a pioneering facility.

In Alien: Earth, Chandler plays Wendy, the first hybrid and leader of the “Lost Boys,” a group of six prototype hybrids created by the Prodigy Corporation from children with terminal illnesses.

Before her change, she was known as Marcy Hermit. In the season finale of Alien: Earth, she takes control of Neverland Island after leading a rebellion against her creators. Wendy also has the unique ability to communicate with the xenomorphs.

Hawley has mentioned that there won’t be a crossover between his Alien: Earth series and Dan Trachtenberg’s new Predator film series.
