Kris Jenner admits she never went to college while sharing advice for future success
The momager says her children’s mixed education choices prove there’s no single route to success
Kris Jenner has shared her thoughts on higher education and career success, despite never attending college herself.
During the March 9 episode of the SmartLess podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, the longtime “momager,” 70, shared candid thoughts about whether young people should feel pressured to pursue traditional academic paths.
Jenner, the mother of Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner, admitted that college was never part of her own journey.
“I’m going to get in trouble here because I did not go to college,” Jenner said on the podcast.
She explained that school never felt like the right environment for her, noting that she was more focused on socializing than academics during her younger years.
Still, Jenner emphasized that everyone learns differently and should choose the path that aligns with their passions.
“I love to learn and I soak it all in,” she said, adding that education can serve as a valuable safety net depending on a person’s career goals.
The reality star and businesswoman pointed to the different paths her children have taken as proof that success doesn’t follow a single blueprint.
While her son Rob attended the University of Southern California, Jenner revealed that Kim briefly tried college before pursuing other opportunities.
Meanwhile, Kourtney completed her degree, highlighting the variety of educational choices within the family.
“Half of my kids did it and half of my kids didn’t, so it’s a mixed bag for me,” Jenner explained.
However, she acknowledged that certain professions require formal education. Careers in fields such as medicine or law, she said, make higher education essential.
Her daughter Kim, for example, is currently studying law while also starring in the family’s reality series, The Kardashians, and managing several business ventures.
Ultimately, Jenner believes young people should focus on what genuinely excites them.
“Follow your heart,” she advised. “Ask yourself what gets you excited about life and what you want to do with your career.”
