Kylie Jenner’s ex-assistant reveals the moment that ended her job
Victoria Villarroel decided to leave the role that 'people would die for'
Victoria Villarroel, the former assistant to Kylie Jenner, has recently disclosed the specific moment that prompted her departure from her high-profile role in 2020.
During an episode of the Better Half podcast, Villarroel recounted a kitchen exchange that occurred during her fifth year of employment.
The incident involved a simple request for a laptop that highlighted a shift in their professional dynamic. “I remember like it was yesterday. This was year five. We were in the kitchen and [Jenner] was like, ‘Vic, I need my laptop, it’s upstairs,’ and I was like, ‘Oof, who’s gonna get that?'” she recalled.
Villarroel explained that the longevity of her tenure had caused professional boundaries to fade, leading to a bond that felt more personal than corporate.
She admitted to responding with a candid remark: “I said something crazy like, ‘Oof, that seems far, I don’t want to go get your laptop.'” This interaction led to a mutual realisation that it was time to transition into a new career chapter.
The decision was met with apprehension, as Villarroel questioned whether she was abandoning a premier opportunity. “I remember being so nervous and thinking, ‘Am I making the right decision? What if I’m leaving the best job I could ever have?'” she confessed.
Despite external pressure to stay in a position that “people would die for,” Jenner remained supportive. “She is the most understanding person, she was like, ‘Oh my God, Vic, I want you to thrive, and I’m going to be here supporting you, and I love you so much,'” Villarroel stated. The two remain close friends within the same social circle.
