Discover the heartwarming story of how Maya Hawke shared her favourite artist with her father
Maya Hawke has highlighted the profound impact of Taylor Swift on her musical journey and an entire generation of listeners
In a recent interview, the 27-year-old actress and singer-songwriter credited the pop superstar with empowering young people to find value in their personal narratives.
Hawke explained that Swift has encouraged fans to think: “My feelings could matter and the details of it could matter, my personal stories.”
The performer, who is preparing to release her new album, "Maitreya Corso", on 1 May, described Swift as an "undeniable influence" on her own creative output.
Her knowledge of the star’s discography is notably extensive. “You could start any song from any word and I would be able to know where you were and finish it probably,” she insisted.
Hawke also recounted how she introduced her father, Ethan Hawke, to Swift’s work through the song “Ours”, which eventually led the pair to attend a concert together.
Reflecting on that milestone, Hawke recalled her pride in sharing a new discovery with her father. “He told me he thought it was a really good song, and I was like, 'Oh, my God, I just brought something to my dad that he didn't know, and he likes — and I like!' It made me feel so confident,” she stated.
While she is currently focused on her spring tour and upcoming record, Hawke hinted at further "secret" plans for the summer of 2026, though she remains tight-lipped about the specific details of her future projects.
