X down worldwide as thousands report login and feed issues
Thousands of users across the globe faced disruptions on X today
X (Twitter), the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, experienced a widespread outage on Thursday (March 26), leaving thousands of users unable to access key features.
Users reported difficulties loading timelines, logging into accounts, and performing basic searches.
According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, more than 10,000 issues were recorded by 7:15am, with reports later climbing to over 30,000.
A significant portion of complaints — around 31,600 — came from the United States, where most users flagged problems with their feeds.
Data showed that roughly 41% of users were unable to access the app, while about 6% experienced issues with the website.
Another tracking service, StatusGator, indicated the disruption was not limited to one region, affecting users across Europe and North America as well.
Frustrated users turned to other platforms such as Reddit and Instagram to confirm whether the outage was widespread.
Some speculated about technical failures, while others questioned whether the platform had been compromised.
“I haven’t been able to upload any graphics for about an hour,” one user wrote, adding that scheduled and unsent posts were also inaccessible.
As of now, X has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage or when services are expected to be fully restored.
