NFL star Travis Kelce remains unbothered as Taylor Swift is called his spouse

Travis Kelce responds to 'wife' comment with humour on podcast

Travis Kelce has responded with characteristic charm after a guest on his podcast referred to his fiancée, Taylor Swift, as his "wife."

During a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, released on Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end discussed his potential basketball eligibility with University of Cincinnati Bearcats Head Coach Jerrod Calhoun.

When Kelce joked about having one semester of eligibility remaining, Calhoun quipped that they could arrange a lucrative "name, image and likeness" deal for the athlete.

"You gotta ask your wife," Calhoun added, in a direct nod to the "Opalite" singer. Despite the couple only being engaged since August 2025, Kelce remained entirely unbothered by the premature title.

The three-time Super Bowl champion simply smiled and played along with the lighthearted suggestion. "Sweetie, I’m going back to school," Kelce teasingly remarked, imagining a conversation with the Fate of Ophelia star.

While the pair are currently planning their upcoming nuptials, they have not yet officially wed. This relaxed exchange comes as Kelce confirms his return to the NFL for the 2026 season following a brief hiatus that sparked retirement rumours.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, he admitted that he needed time for his "emotions to settle" after his team's recent losses.

"I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty short and brief. The Chiefs knew where I was the entire time on it," he explained. Kelce now remains focused on his dual roles as a premier sportsman and a high-profile fiancé.
