Kanye West halts SoFi Stadium performance over 'corny' lighting
Kanye West stops concert multiple times to criticise production during Los Angeles homecoming
Kanye West’s highly anticipated return to the Los Angeles stage was marked by a series of tense interruptions as the artist struggled with significant production issues.
During his headline performance at SoFi Stadium on Wednesday, the rapper—now legally known as Ye—abruptly halted his 2007 hit "Good Life" after becoming visibly frustrated with the lighting and pyrotechnic effects.
Footage circulating on social media captured West repeatedly calling for the music to be cut, expressing his disdain for visuals that did not align with his rehearsed vision.
"Stop it, stop it, stop it," he interjected, adding, "Yo... I don’t like when the lights move like that... like disco s...."
The interruptions continued throughout the evening, with West comparing the lighting design to a "sketch" and labelling the effects as "corny."
At one point, he directly addressed the technical crew, stating, "Stop doing the vibrating Vegas lights, bro... we went over this in rehearsal."
Despite the friction, West offered a brief apology to the capacity crowd before eventually resuming the set once the issues were resolved.
A poignant highlight of the night occurred when his daughter, North West, joined him on stage for a brief embrace and a collaborative performance, providing a rare moment of warmth amidst the technical chaos.
The concert, part of the Ye: Homecoming series and coinciding with his new album Bully, represents West’s first full domestic live show since 2021.
Following successful appearances in Mexico City earlier this year and across Asia in late 2025, the artist is scheduled to continue his global tour with headline dates in London, Milan, and Madrid throughout the summer of 2026.
