Jared Leto voices Skeletor in 'Masters of the Universe' amid misconduct allegations

Jared Leto is set to voice Skeletor in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie, delivering a surprisingly understated take on the iconic villain.

The 54-year-old actor, best known for Tron: Ares and Morbius, abandons the character’s traditional shrieking cackle, opting instead for a British-accented tone.

In the new 2.5-minute trailer, Leto’s first major line is, “The universe shall quake in my shadow,” signaling a darker, more restrained approach to the classic villain.

Directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, Aaron and Adam Nee, and David Callaham, Masters of the Universe also stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, alongside Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, and Kristen Wiig. The film is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.

Leto’s casting comes amid ongoing controversy. In June 2025, Air Mail reported allegations of sexual misconduct by multiple women, which Leto has strongly denied.

The actor’s involvement in the high-profile fantasy project arrives months after the claims surfaced, bringing the conversation about the allegations back into public discussion.

Masters of the Universe aims to blend sword-and-sorcery action with a modern cinematic vision, with fans eager to see Leto’s take on one of pop culture’s most iconic villains.
