BTS unveils powerful dystopian music video for new single Hooligan
BTS showcase explosive choreography alongside dozens of masked backup dancers
Global K-pop phenomenon BTS has captivated audiences with the release of their latest music video, "Hooligan," the third visual instalment from their fifth studio album, ARIRANG.
Unveiled on Tuesday, the video presents the seven members—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—reigning over a surreal, dystopian world.
The production features striking landscapes, including a red platform positioned before a grand palace where masked dancers perform intricate routines.
In a particularly surreal sequence, the group is seen walking through a gloomy passage while civilians float above them, defying gravity.
The track showcases the group's signature energy and vocal prowess. During a high-octane verse, RM raps, "Watch this, watch this beat goin’ hooligan / We pop out, we actin’ a fool again."
This latest release follows the successful visuals for previous singles "SWIM" and "2.0," further solidifying the band's artistic evolution following their return to the music scene.
The group’s agency, Big Hit Music, previously noted that the album ARIRANG is "packed with honest stories" and serves as a "heartfelt way of saying thank you" to their dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY.
This comeback marks the first full-group activity since June 2022, following a hiatus during which all members completed South Korea's mandatory military service.
With fourteen tracks exploring themes of perseverance and gratitude, the album has been met with significant international acclaim.
Looking ahead, BTS is scheduled to embark on a massive world tour covering the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. The tour is expected to be a monumental global event, concluding in 2027.
