Katie Price's husband claims his Chelsea FC purchase expected to be approved this week

Katie Price’s spouse, Lee Andrews, has announced he's in the running to acquire a majority stake in Chelsea Football Club.

The Premier League team is owned by the BlueCo consortium, led by American entrepreneur Todd Boehly, who acquired the club for £4.25bn in 2022.

The self-proclaimed multimillionaire entrepreneur Lee, 41, described his scheme to take control of the club as “audacious and bold,” but assured the funds are “absolutely” available.

This follows his earlier claim of buying a £36m villa, paid in cash, on the exclusive Palm Jumeirah in Dubai for him and Katie to reside in—although she recently asserted she won’t be leaving the UK.

Lee shared exclusively with The Sun: “There’s a bit of a verification process, and I’ll only secure 55 percent, naturally for a significant sum.

“I can’t share all the details and complexities of my finances but the resources are ready. They have to approve and confirm, but it will happen.

“It sounds outlandish, it sounds bold, but keep watching this space.”

Just recently, the club reported a record-breaking pre-tax loss of £262.4m for the 2024-2025 season, surpassing the previous record held by Manchester City’s £197.5m loss from the 2010/11 season.

This was despite Chelsea achieving its second-highest season earnings, generating £490.9m.

The club also incurred the highest agent fees amongst British clubs, a staggering £65.1m.

Nevertheless, the club did not breach the league’s profitability and sustainability regulations, owing to investments in infrastructure and in developing youth and women’s football programs.

Lee wedded Katie in January, only weeks after connecting online following her breakup with ex-boyfriend JJ Slater.

The couple has been enamored with each other since, with Katie, 47, frequently traveling to Dubai to be with him.

Last month, Lee informed The Sun he had purchased a mansion outright for the couple, investing additional funds in lavish art to adorn it.

But in a YouTube vlog on Monday, she explained from her rural residence: “I’m not sure why people believe I’m relocating to Dubai.

Lee also revealed that he earns between £2m and £5m yearly from his investments in the American markets.
