Explore three refreshing coffee recipes perfect for scorching summer heat

It is not easy to go without caffeine during the week, but the scorching summer heat often makes consumers yearn for something cold.

Celebrity chef and MasterChef India judge Kunal Kapur has shared a solution by demonstrating three ways to prepare cold coffee at home.

He revealed that his recipes for regular cold coffee, mocha frappuccino, and caramel frappuccino take only ten minutes each to whip up.

Identifying the symptoms

To achieve the best results, the chef highlighted that specific textures and temperatures are vital. For instance, a frappuccino requires significant amounts of ice blended into fine crystals throughout the drink. His recommended recipes include:

  • Regular cold coffee: Chilled milk, instant coffee, sugar, vanilla extract, and optional ice cream or cinnamon.
  • Mocha frappuccino: Ice cubes, chilled milk, chocolate sauce, instant coffee, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  • Caramel frappuccino: Ice, milk, homemade caramel sauce, instant coffee, vanilla, and whipped cream.

The restorative pathway

For the caramel sauce, Kunal Kapur provided a specific method to ensure a smooth, golden finish without burning the sugar. He recommended following these steps:

  • Sprinkle sugar, water, and lemon juice in a pan and heat gently.
  • Swirl the pan instead of stirring to allow uniform caramelisation.
  • Add room temperature cream once the sugar reaches a light amber colour.
  • Whisk until smooth, then mix in butter and allow to cool.

Kunal Kapur noted that serving these drinks in chilled glasses with extra sauce garnishing enhances the experience. These refreshing alternatives provide a foundation for staying cool while maintaining a daily caffeine ritual.
