Rachel Zegler secures Best Actress in a Musical at Laurence Olivier Awards 2026

Rachel Zegler has marked a significant milestone in her career by winning Best Actress in a Musical at the Laurence Olivier Awards 2026.

The 24-year-old American star was honoured for her portrayal of Eva Perón in "Evita", which enjoyed a successful run at the London Palladium.

During the ceremony, held at the Royal Albert Hall and hosted by Nick Mohammed, Miss Zegler delivered a stirring performance of "Don’t Cry for Me Argentina," earning a standing ovation from the audience.

"Paddington The Musical" emerged as the evening's most decorated production, securing titles for Best New Musical and Best Director for Luke Sheppard.

The revival of Arthur Miller’s "All My Sons" also found success, winning Best Revival and earning Paapa Essiedu the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Other notable winners included "Into The Woods" for Best Musical Revival and "Punch", which was named Best New Play.

Miss Zegler’s victory comes after her high-profile debut in Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story" and her upcoming role in the "Snow White" live-action adaptation.
