Kevin Hart unveils personal audible original 'Kids Make Me Angry'
The actor's latest project explores his fatherhood journey, blending humour and vulnerability
Kevin Hart is revealing his many "chaotic" moments in fatherhood in a new Audible Original, Kids Make Me Angry.
The renowned comedian and actor, 46, is sharing his parenting insights infused with his signature humour in Kids Make Me Angry.
Hart's new Audible Original, releasing this June, is both a memoir and a parenting guide, offering a glimpse into his 20-plus-year journey as a father, from dealing with an absent father to sending his children off to college.
"I didn’t have a manual on parenting, so I had to learn along the way," Hart shared. "And trust me, I wasn't flawless, but I was there every step of the way."
"In this Audible Original, I'm diving into the last 21 years—the chaos, the lessons, the moments that shattered me and helped rebuild who I am," he adds. "The key is that I’ve always been present and continue to be there — loving my kids wholeheartedly!”
Kids Make Me Angry captures Hart’s exploration into the "eight transformative stages of parenthood," beginning with initial inexperience to the chapter Hart refers to as "The Runway," where letting go proves to be a formidable challenge, according to the book's details.
Throughout this "deeply personal" narrative, Hart — father to Heaven, Hendrix, Kenzo, and Kaori — seamlessly weaves humour with honest vulnerability.
The entertainer shares pivotal fatherhood experiences, such as teaching his 4-year-old about consequences after discovering toys in her backpack, diving fully dressed into a pool to save his son during a Power Wheels mishap, navigating "the talk" with his teenagers, and witnessing his daughter's journey to high school valedictorian before she heads to college.
Having grown up without his father, Hart saw fatherhood as "a unique chance" to rewrite his experience: fathers don’t need to be perfect, just present.
"His goal: to create new opportunities so his children can build their future families on a firm foundation, transforming the Hart legacy from one marked by absence into one defined by presence, affection, and guidance," the announcement highlights.
Kids Make Me Angry will release on Audible two weeks prior to Father's Day on June 4, and it is currently available for preorder.
