Dua Lipa has publicly declared her unwavering admiration for Britney Spears, describing the singer as "an icon" despite the American star’s recent arrest on charges of driving under the influence.

In a revealing conversation with Vogue Magazine, the Houdini singer detailed her profound connection to the pop veteran’s discography, specifically identifying the 2003 hit Toxic as her all-time favourite track.

Lipa shared that she listens to the song nightly to unwind while holidaying with her extended family.

"You're very silly and giggly and fun, and I need to hear Toxic at the end of every single night when I'm feeling like that," Lipa told the publication.

"It's one of my favourite songs." The artist further lauded the track’s enduring appeal, categorising it as a timeless classic.

"I think it's one of the greatest pop songs ever made," Lipa praised, noting its unique longevity.

"It makes me feel nostalgic, but also at the same time, if it came out yesterday, it would be an absolute smash. I love it so much."

The discussion also touched upon the song's legendary music video, which features Spears as a futuristic flight attendant.

"The bit that stays in my mind that I remember so well is Britney in a stewardess outfit, and I don't think anyone has been able to make a stewardess outfit look so good," Lipa remarked.

Concluding her tribute, she stated, "I love Britney so much. I love everything about her, all her songs. She's such an icon." Lipa herself is currently preparing for several major international festival appearances.
