Rapper Future faces paternity suit from ex-partner Layla Sanad
Future argues that the ongoing paternity proceedings should be moved to Arizona courts
- Layla Sanad filed a paternity lawsuit against rapper Future in a Florida court.
- The legal filing seeks child support and retroactive payments for a nine-year-old son.
- Future requested a dismissal, claiming the case should be handled in Arizona.
Rapper Future is reportedly facing a paternity lawsuit from a former partner who claims he is the father of her nine-year-old son.
According to reports from Wednesday, Layla Sanad has been engaged in a legal dispute with the musician, whose real name is Nayvadius Cash, within the Florida court system.
Sanad filed the suit to officially establish paternity and secure an order for child support, which includes a request for two years of retroactive payments.
She maintains that the pair were in a romantic relationship leading to the birth of their son, identified as K.W., in 2017.
Future has responded to the Florida filing by submitting his own court documents, requesting that the case be dismissed in favour of what he describes as a "more convenient forum."
The rapper contends that both Sanad and the child reside in Arizona, where he claims to have already initiated a separate legal case.
In the Arizona proceedings, Future reportedly admitted to being the father of the child, whom he identified as Kash Wilburn.
He further claimed to have been voluntarily providing Sanad with $3,500 in monthly child support payments.
The court has yet to rule on the motion to relocate the case. Future is known to have at least seven children, including an eleven-year-old son, Future Zahir, with his former fiancée Ciara.
While the rapper manages these latest legal challenges, Ciara has moved on to raise four children with her husband, Russell Wilson.
Representatives for the "Mask Off" performer have not yet provided an official comment on the current litigation.
