Carrie Underwood is receiving attention for her thoughtful gesture.
An “American Idol” contestant shared that the celebrity judge had presented her with Tiffany jewelry and included a personal note celebrating her achievement of reaching the top 11 on the singing reality show.
"Never imagined my initial piece of Tiffany & Co. jewelry would come from Carrie Underwood," expressed Hannah Harper with a crying emoji on Facebook.
She continued, “Honestly, the handwritten note touched me the most. That meant everything. Her effort to do that says a lot about her character. She’s genuinely down-to-earth and sincere. Just a wonderful, kind-hearted person. I admire her deeply,” Harper shared.
Harper displayed a photo of the Tiffany packaging and Underwood’s note, which included words of praise, stating, “Since I first saw you and heard your story and voice, I knew you were unique.”
She also noted that many women and mothers have connected with Harper’s journey, referring to her as an "inspiration."
The hopeful musician performed an original song detailing her battle with postpartum depression during her “American Idol” audition.
“You’re honestly my favorite person,” Underwood said to Harper before her performance. “You’re dressed in handmade attire. Singing songs called ‘String Cheese.’”
Harper explained with emotion that she penned “String Cheese” after having her youngest child, who she mentioned is now a year old.
“And my youngest son — I was having a moment of self-pity, praying for peace—” and my son repeatedly urged me, ‘Hey, Mom, please open this. Open my cheese.’”
She realized after opening his string cheese that God had placed her in that moment and “my home was the greatest ministry I could ever have, and being a mother, so I got up from the couch, stopped feeling sorry for myself, and understood that’s exactly where I wanted to be.”
She added she “overcame postpartum depression and declared, ‘I’m not going down that path.’”
Underwood teared up after Harper’s song, calling “String Cheese” “one of the most relatable songs I’ve ever encountered.”
Soon after, before announcing her continuation to Hollywood for the competition, Underwood commented, “You might just be my favorite person to walk through those doors in the last few days. You have a star-like appearance. Your voice carries a beautiful simplicity.”
The “Before He Cheats” singer mentioned she would be thinking about Harper and her upcoming song choice in the competition.
“I feel like I’m just going to be cheering for you,” she confessed. “I adored everything about your performance.”
