Peyton List reveals her ideal date nights with boyfriend Jacob Bertrand
The pair have been in a relationship since 2022 after years of friendship
Peyton List has shared a glimpse into her low-key relationship life with longtime boyfriend Jacob Bertrand, revealing that their ideal date nights are built around a shared love of live theater rather than extravagant outings.
Speaking exclusively at the opening night of Becky Shaw at New York City’s Hayes Theater on April 6, the Heathers off-Broadway star said that despite busy schedules and frequent travel, the couple keeps things simple when it comes to spending time together.
“I mean, we’re all traveling so much, so it really is seeing shows,” List, 28, said. “We saw Dog Day Afternoon the other day, and now Becky Shaw again.”
The actress added that she’s grateful her relationship hasn’t mirrored the chaotic dating scenarios seen on stage in productions like Becky Shaw, a dark comedy centered around a disastrous blind date.
“Thank God. I’ve been in a relationship for years now, so nothing to report,” she said with a laugh.
List and Bertrand, 26, first met in 2015 while working on the Disney Channel original movie The Swap. They later reconnected years later when List joined the cast of the hit series Cobra Kai, where both actors starred.
Their friendship eventually turned romantic, with the couple going public with their relationship in 2022 after years of knowing each other.
“We’ve been friends for a while,” Bertrand previously said, noting that their connection developed naturally after working together and spending time off set.
Since then, the pair have continued to support each other publicly, frequently appearing together at events and speaking warmly about one another in interviews.
In past interviews, List has described Bertrand as a trusted partner she turns to for advice, while Bertrand has credited her with encouraging his creative ambitions.
“She’s the person who was really pushing me to direct and write,” he said previously, calling her his “muse.”
List echoed similar sentiments, praising his authenticity and supportiveness while describing their dynamic as grounded and encouraging despite their busy careers.
