Katy Perry dazzles at La Nuvola concert in Rome amid controversy surrounding allegations
The singer delivered a hit-filled set while posting behind-the-scenes moments from La Nuvola
Katy Perry delivered an unexpected private performance in Rome over the weekend, sharing highlights from the intimate show as she continues to face renewed attention surrounding sexual assault allegations made by actress Ruby Rose.
The “Harleys in Hawaii” singer, 41, performed on Saturday, April 18, at La Nuvola, where she surprised guests with a setlist featuring some of her biggest hits, including Teenage Dream, Firework, Harleys in Hawaii, and California Gurls.
Following the event, Perry posted a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse into both the concert and her time in the Italian capital.
She captioned the post, “Just Rome’ing around,” pairing the lighthearted message with behind-the-scenes moments from the trip.
For the performance, Perry wore a sparkling bra-style top paired with a flowing black skirt, embracing a bold stage look as she entertained the private audience.
Fans quickly reacted to the post, with many praising the performance and her presence in Italy.
The appearance comes amid ongoing controversy after Australian actress Ruby Rose publicly accused Perry of sexually assaulting her more than a decade ago.
Rose made the allegation on social media, writing, “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks.”
Perry’s representatives have strongly denied the claims, calling them false in a public statement.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” the statement said, adding that Rose has a “well-documented history” of making public accusations that have been denied.
Rose has since filed a formal complaint, with reports indicating that an investigation is now underway.
Despite the ongoing dispute, Perry has continued her professional commitments, with her Rome performance highlighting a focus on live shows and international appearances.
