Diane Keaton’s private art and memorabilia collection opens for public auction

The personal collection of the late Diane Keaton is set to go under the hammer this summer, offering a rare glimpse into the life and creative world of the Oscar-winning actress eight months after her death at age 79.

Auction house Bonhams will present a series of four sales across New York City and Los Angeles in June, featuring artwork, fashion, film memorabilia, and personal objects that reflect Keaton’s distinctive aesthetic and artistic sensibility.

Branded “Diane Keaton: The Architecture of an Icon,” the collection is described by Bonhams as a carefully curated archive of “fine art, interiors, iconic fashion, personal objects, and other creative touchstones” from the actress, filmmaker, and style icon.

“To speak of her is to speak of instinct, an unerring visual and creative intuition that guided her across decades of artistic exploration,” Keaton’s sister Dorrie Hall said in a statement included with the announcement.

Among the standout items is the original untitled script of Annie Hall, the 1977 film that earned Keaton an Academy Award for her performance opposite Woody Allen.

The collection also includes clothing pieces designed by Ralph Lauren and Thom Browne, as well as original collages created by Keaton herself.

Keaton, who rose to fame in the 1970s through her roles in The Godfather films and later collaborations with Allen, died on Oct. 11, 2025 at her Los Angeles home. Her family confirmed at the time that the cause of death was pneumonia.

In a statement shared shortly after her passing, the Keaton family thanked fans for their support, calling her “beloved Diane” and expressing gratitude for the outpouring of messages.

The upcoming auctions include multiple themed events: Tailored & Timeless, running May 31 to June 9; At Home with Diane, from June 1 to June 10; Chapters of an Edited Life, from June 1 to June 11; and Architecture of an Icon, a live-only sale in New York City on June 8.

Across her decades-long career, Keaton became known not only for her performances in films such as The First Wives Club, The Family Stone, and the Book Club franchise, but also for her highly individual style, which has influenced generations of fashion and film fans alike.

Now, her curated possessions offer a final window into the creative world she built both on and off screen.
