Zayn Malik admits 'mistakes' after punching Louis Tomlinson during Netflix bust-up

Zayn Malik has confessed he’s “not always in the right” after punching his former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson in a heated argument — injuring his head and leaving him dizzy.

The old friends’ bruising altercation happened while they were filming a three-part journey for Netflix.

The streaming platform has now decided to cancel the multi-million-dollar production, which was meant to showcase them reconnecting over remembered moments of their pop career.

Zayn has currently acknowledged that he’s learning to leave behind his “bold arrogance” in a fresh interview, just days after it surfaced that he struck 34-year-old Louis.

The singer discussed how he settles disputes, attributing his self-love as the key to handling differing views more effectively.

On the Zach Sang Show, Zayn shared: “It helps you to love everyone, not just in a romantic way, but also friends and people you talk with. They can share their ideas, and you’re more open to listening to what they say.

“You don’t need to always agree either. People can have completely different viewpoints, and that’s perfectly okay.

“We’re not identical. That’s awesome. Plus, [some people] don’t see the value in being wrong occasionally. You don’t have to always have the correct opinion.”

He added: “I can’t pinpoint the exact time [I realized that], but it’s definitely in recent years. It’s natural to want to be right… having that bold arrogance and attitude.

“But as you age, I’m not sure if it’s for everyone, but it calms down. That demanding voice weakens.”

The Sun has learned that Louis and Zayn have not communicated since the fight in Wyoming six months ago.

An insider explained: “Louis was caught off guard and shocked. Zayn had rings on, so it cut Louis’ head. This occurred outdoors, with many people present.”

Insiders informed The Sun that their shocking on-set argument was ignited by Zayn’s comment about Louis’ mother Johannah Deakin, who lost her battle with leukemia in 2016.

A source stated: “The guys were filming on-site. Zayn began acting out and was talking disrespectfully.

“The situation escalated into an argument, and then Zayn commented about Louis’ mom Johannah.

“Louis was frozen with surprise. When he went to react, Zayn hit him.

“Zayn punched him right in the face.

“As he was wearing rings, it injured Louis’ head.

“He was pulled back, and Louis received medical help. He ended up with a concussion. It happened outdoors in front of many. It was quite shocking.”

It is understood Netflix finally decided to drop the series last month due to diminishing chances of the two mending fences.

Zayn achieved fame when he appeared on the music scene with the boyband One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Louis, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan.

The group rose to international fame after auditioning for The X Factor and becoming 1D in 2010. They were runners-up on the talent show.
