Josh Duggar slams siblings for lack of respect following federal prison sentence
Josh Duggar expresses deep frustration over perceived abandonment by his eighteen siblings
Josh Duggar has expressed significant resentment towards his siblings in a series of emails sent shortly after receiving a 151-month federal prison sentence.
In correspondence obtained by PEOPLE, the disgraced reality star wrote to his father, Jim Bob Duggar, just two days after his sentencing for the possession of child sexual abuse material.
"I really don't care what anyone thinks about me at this point...but i would expect at least a little bit of respect as a human being — which i feel like i haven't even received from any of my own siblings," he stated.
The emails reveal that only two of his eighteen siblings had made contact in the thirteen months following his arrest.
Josh noted that his sister, Jessa Duggar Seewald, sent a single message, while his brother, John-David Duggar, engaged in one video visit.
Disappointed by the silence from others, including Joseph and Kendra Duggar, he urged his family to "examine [their] hearts and lives" and consider how they would wish to be treated if they were incarcerated.
"[W]ith all due respect, shame on you that you didn't reach out," he added in a message intended for a family group chat.
Beyond his own grievances, Josh requested that his siblings show "unconditional love and kindness" to his wife, Anna, and their seven children, describing his spouse as "practically a widow."
Currently held at FCI Seagoville in Texas, the former television personality has seen his release date extended to 2 February 2033. He is presently pursuing his fourth and final attempt to appeal his federal conviction.
