Olivia Rodrigo is bringing dark humour to Studio 8H ahead of her highly anticipated double-duty appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

In a newly released NBC promo, the three-time Grammy winner appears alongside featured cast member Ashley Padilla in a series of playful sketches teasing Saturday’s episode.

The most talked-about moment comes when Padilla yawns and admits, “I couldn’t sleep because I’m afraid of what happens when we die,” prompting Rodrigo to reply, “Aw, it’s not so bad. Here, look,” before jokingly wrapping her hands around the comedian’s neck and taking the bit to an absurd finish.

The promo also sneaks in several nods to Rodrigo’s career, including references to her breakout hit drivers license and her albums SOUR and GUTS.

Rodrigo is set to make her hosting debut on the May 2 episode while also serving as musical guest for the third time, marking one of the biggest closeout bookings of Season 51.

The appearance arrives as she gears up for the June 12 release of her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, led by recently dropped single Drop Dead.
