Kim Kardashian's tough choice in law journey after bar exam challenges
Kardashian first attempted the California Bar exam last July
Kim Kardashian appears to be pausing her pursuit of the California Bar exam after a previous unsuccessful try.
Sources suggest the “Kardashians” personality, 45, bypassed the February exam and does not intend to attempt it again in July, shares TMZ.
Individuals aiming to take the test have two opportunities each year. However, insiders reveal the fashion icon doesn't plan to attempt it again until 2027.
Kardashian has taken the California Bar Exam only once but attempted the California “baby bar” exam, necessary for her legal apprenticeship, three times before she successfully passed on her fourth attempt in 2021.
The reality star — who also plays a lawyer in Ryan Murphy’s “All’s Fair” — revealed her failure of the California Bar in November following her July effort.
“So…I’m still not officially a lawyer,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, revealing the outcome. “I’m just someone who plays a stylish attorney on TV.”
“Six years into this legal journey, I’m committed until I succeed at the bar. No quick fixes, no quitting — just more hard work and dedication.”
Her choice to step back isn’t surprising for those tracking Kardashian’s legal path. In December, she openly stated that the failure shook her “confidence.”
“I took some time to come to terms with it, and right after seeing my results, I felt disappointed. It was an uncomfortable period without much confidence,” Kardashian told Time Magazine.
“The results drop on a Friday, and I knew by Sunday, they’d be all over the internet. So, I chose to speak up first to share it didn’t turn out as hoped.”
Kardashian previously discussed her study routine in an episode of the “Kardashians.”
In the show, she emotionally revealed feeling like she was experiencing a “mental crisis” due to the intense studying needed for the exam.
“I’m definitely going to cry because it’s just so exhausting,” she emotionally stated to the camera, explaining she felt she’d “hit a barrier” with her preparations.
“I injured my back, and it seems each time I advance, something pulls me back,” she elaborated, saying she could “barely walk” and “barely sit.”
