Olivia Rodrigo may have opted out of the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, but the pop star still made a late-night fashion statement with a surprise appearance at a high-profile after-party in New York City.

The 21-year-old singer was spotted arriving at the Saint Laurent-hosted celebration at downtown venue People’s, where she wore a vintage Vivienne Westwood crochet minidress from the designer’s Fall/Winter 1994 collection.

The archival blue piece featured a low-cut boat neckline, fringe sleeves, and delicate floral crochet detailing across the bodice.

Rodrigo completed the look with nude heels and a sleek, deep side-part hairstyle. She was styled by Chloë and Chenelle Delgadillo, with the dress sourced from London vintage boutique Nordic Poetry, which later acknowledged the moment on social media.

Her appearance came just two days after she hosted Saturday Night Live on May 2, a demanding schedule that may have influenced her decision to skip fashion’s biggest red carpet earlier in the evening.

Despite missing the main Met Gala entrance, Rodrigo’s after-party look quickly gained attention online, particularly given her established history with the event. She previously attended the Met Gala in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

The singer is now preparing for a major year ahead, with her upcoming album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love scheduled for release on June 12, followed by a tour later in the year.

Speaking about the project in a recent interview, Rodrigo said she aimed to explore new emotional themes in her music.

“I was really excited to write about joy, love, and passion in a way that I had never really done,” she said. “Most of my big songs are about being sad, angry, heartbroken.”
