Megan Thee Stallion discusses emotional toll of global stardom

Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about the emotional and personal adjustments that come with global fame, revealing that she has learned to separate her public persona from her private identity in order to maintain balance.

In a recent cover story for Entrepreneur, published on Tuesday, May 5, the Grammy-winning rapper discussed the challenge of balancing life as “Megan Thee Stallion” with her real self, Megan Pete.

“I feel like I had to learn how to separate Megan Pete and Megan Thee Stallion,” she said, reflecting on the evolution of her identity as her career grew.

The Houston-born artist explained that early in her rise to fame, she felt pressure to embody her stage persona at all times, which eventually became emotionally exhausting.

“I was Megan Thee Stallion all the time. I was on all the time,” she said, adding that the constant public-facing role began to affect how even friends interacted with her.

As her profile increased, Megan noted that maintaining a consistent public image started to blur the boundaries between her professional and personal life, forcing her to reassess how she moves through both worlds.

“I had to learn that, when I go home, I can’t take my whole day with me inside of my personal life,” she explained. “This is two different lives I’m living.”

Despite the challenges, the WAP rapper said she remains committed to her fans, known as “Hotties,” aiming to leave positive impressions while also protecting her private space.
