Camilla Kerslake, the celebrated classical singer and wife of former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw, has revealed the "shocking" results of a recent CO2 laser resurfacing treatment.

Taking to her Instagram account on Tuesday, the 37-year-old mother of two shared graphic updates of her face, which appeared severely swollen, red, and bloody.

The aesthetic procedure, which creates "micro injuries" to treat sun damage and wrinkles, left the star in such distress that she required a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and mask to accelerate her healing.

Documenting her journey 48 hours after the procedure, Kerslake admitted to her followers that the experience has been "rough to say the least."

The inflammation was so pronounced that she struggled to open her eyes upon waking and found it difficult to eat.

"I was not prepared for this level of pain and swelling," she confessed, noting that she had to resort to using a teaspoon for her breakfast as she could not open her mouth wide enough for a regular spoon.

Despite the physical toll, Kerslake is "trusting the process" while juggling her professional commitments and "mum duties" for her sons, Wilder and Hunter.

Now four days into her recovery, she noted that the redness is gradually subsiding, though she remains candid about the unexpected intensity of the post-operative phase.

Kerslake, who married Robshaw in 2018, remains optimistic that the final results will justify the arduous recovery. Her journey highlights the significant downtime often hidden behind high-end aesthetic treatments favoured by celebrities for skin rejuvenation.
