Woman arrested after police find tattoo on 22-month-old boy’s arm
The woman now faces a fourth-degree child abuse charge following the investigation
A Brook McDaniel woman has been charged with child abuse after authorities alleged she gave her 22-month-old son a tattoo inside their home.
According to reports from local authorities, the 27-year-old was taken into custody on May 4 after Kentucky State Police responded to a child abuse complaint at a residence in Monticello near the Tennessee state line.
Troopers reportedly discovered the toddler with what was described as a black dot tattoo on his right forearm, along with redness around the area.
Authorities stated that McDaniel claimed she had been tattooing her own leg when the child allegedly approached and placed his arm near the tattoo gun.
However, witnesses told police that McDaniel later claimed the child “wanted the tattoo” and referred to the marking as a “party dot,” according to arrest records cited by local outlets.
Investigators also reportedly contacted the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services after observing what were described as “deplorable” living conditions inside the home.
McDaniel has been charged with fourth-degree assault involving child abuse and was booked into the Adair County Detention Center.
According to jail records, she is being held on a $5,000 cash bond as the investigation continues.
