Texas mother Ariana Herrera killed in alleged nightclub parking lot murder-suicide
Police say her estranged boyfriend also died in an apparent murder-suicide
Ariana Herrera, a 25-year-old mother, was fatally shot in a nightclub parking lot in Abilene, Texas, in an incident police say ended in a murder-suicide involving her estranged boyfriend.
Authorities said the shooting occurred in the early hours of Sunday, May 3, outside the Vybz nightclub, where officers were called around 2 a.m. following reports of gunfire.
When police arrived at the scene on Eplens Court, they found Herrera dead inside her vehicle parked in the lot.
A second individual, identified as 26-year-old Jalavion Beaver, was discovered nearby with what investigators believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials said the pair were in an estranged relationship at the time of the incident and had been involved in an argument shortly before the shooting.
According to police, preliminary findings suggest Beaver shot Herrera while she was seated in her car before turning the weapon on himself.
The case remains under investigation, but authorities have described the incident as an apparent domestic-related murder-suicide.
Herrera’s death has left her family and friends in mourning, with tributes highlighting her role as a devoted mother to a young son.
A GoFundMe page created to support funeral expenses and her child described her as a loving and kind presence who brought joy to those around her.
“She was a light in our lives, kind, loving, and always there when anyone needed her,” the tribute read, adding that her loss has left a devastating void.
Police have not released further details as the investigation continues.
