Seth Rogen and Jon Stewart condemn Kanye West over attempted comeback tour
Kanye West has faced ongoing backlash over antisemitic comments and cancelled performances
Seth Rogen and Jon Stewart have publicly criticised Kanye West over his reported attempt at a music “comeback tour,” amid ongoing backlash surrounding his past antisemitic remarks.
The comments were made during Seth Rogen’s appearance at the Seth Goes Greek event at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, part of the Netflix Is a Joke festival, where he addressed West’s recent controversies on stage.
According to reports, Rogen referenced West’s past actions and remarks, including antisemitic statements and the release of provocative material, while questioning the public response he has received compared to others in the industry.
Rogen told the audience he had faced significant backlash for his own comments in the past, adding that the reaction to West’s controversies appeared comparatively muted despite their severity.
Jon Stewart later joined Rogen on stage, strongly backing his criticism. He reportedly condemned West’s remarks, referring to the rapper’s past statements about Adolf Hitler and dismissing the credibility of his views.
West, who also goes by Ye, has faced sustained criticism in recent years for antisemitic comments and controversial public behaviour, including the release of a track titled Heil Hitler and merchandise featuring Nazi symbolism.
He previously issued an apology via a full-page newspaper advertisement, stating he is “not a Nazi or an antisemite” and expressing regret for his actions, which he attributed in part to a reported manic episode.
Despite announcing plans for new tour dates, several of West’s appearances have been cancelled, including his scheduled headline performances at the Wireless Festival in London, which was ultimately scrapped after he was denied entry into the United Kingdom.
