Jimmy Kimmel caught blasting Stephen Colbert's fans for 'not cancelling' Paramount+
Jimmy Kimmel jokingly called out Stephen Colbert’s audience for not boycotting Paramount+ after The Late Show’s cancellation
During a reunion of the Strike Force Five podcast hosts, the late-night stars gathered on Stephen Colbert’s soon-to-be-finished show. The group included Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver.
Kimmel recalled how his own fans reacted when his show was briefly suspended. He then turned his attention to Colbert’s loyal viewers in the studio.
"When I got knocked off the air for a few days, people cancelled Disney+," Kimmel said, according to The Wrap. "Why aren’t you people cancelling Paramount+? Because you didn’t have it in the first place?"
The jab drew laughs from the host and his peers. John Oliver then wryly offered his own take on the streaming service, pending a potential company merger.
"Paramount+ might have some good programming," Oliver quipped. "Unless it’s not going through, in which case, it can go f--k itself now and forever."
For those unversed, CBS announced in July 2025 that Colbert's show would end, citing the move as a "purely a financial" decision. The final episode is set for 21 May.
The group discussed the sadness of Colbert's departure, with Kimmel offering a particularly strange yet poignant comparison for the loss of the show.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Kimmel told his stunned fellow hosts, "It's like when your young wife dies... It's sad is what I'm saying. It is 'gone too soon.'"
