Angelina Jolie is reportedly forging ahead with her long-held plans to leave the United States, a decision that has left her estranged father, Jon Voight, devastated. An insider has revealed the 87-year-old actor is now pleading for one last meeting with his famous daughter before she moves abroad for good.

'He misses Angie desperately'

The news that Angelina Jolie is preparing to leave Los Angeles has reportedly left her father, the actor Jon Voight, fearing he may never see his daughter again. An insider close to the 87-year-old star revealed the emotional toll of Jolie's decision. "It is hitting him hard. Now, he is pleading with Angie to at least visit him one last time before she leaves town," the source said, according to reports.

The father-daughter duo's communication is said to be minimal. "Jon and Angelina barely talk or see each other these days," the insider added. "But it's not for lack of effort on his part. He still checks in with birthday and holiday messages, asking about the children and praying that one day they will be able to put their differences aside."

Despite his understanding that his daughter is ready for a new start, the source noted that Voight feels her move is "a little cold-hearted," adding simply, "He misses Angie desperately."

A history of public friction

For those unversed, the pair have endured a long-fractured relationship, marked by public disagreements and periods of estrangement. Their already-strained bond is believed to have worsened further in 2024 after Voight commented publicly on Jolie's bitter divorce battle with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

More recently, their differing political views have reportedly driven a deeper wedge between them. In July 2024, Voight publicly criticised his daughter’s support for Palestine, which reportedly soured their relationship even more. A source close to Jolie has stated that she wishes her father well but "does not speak about him publicly," a move that highlights her desire to keep family matters private.

'That humanity... is not what I grew up with here'

Jolie has made it clear that a move has been on her mind for some time. In an August 2024 interview, the actor hinted at her intentions, explaining that her primary reason for staying in Los Angeles was her family situation.

"I have to be here from a divorce," she stated bluntly. Her departure is anticipated to take place after her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July 2026. Together with Pitt, Jolie shares six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and the 17-year-old twins.

The actor has also expressed a growing disillusionment with the social climate in the United States. "When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," she explained. "That humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here." In September 2025, she made an even stronger statement, saying, "I don't, at this time, recognize my country." Jolie is expected to spend much of her time in Cambodia, the birthplace of her eldest son, Maddox.

The sprawling Los Feliz estate, formerly owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, is on the market for an asking price of $29.85 million.

As Jolie prepares for a new chapter centred on international projects and a quieter life for her children, her father remains in Los Angeles. While she is expected to return for professional commitments, Voight is left hoping for a final goodbye that may never come.
