Netflix unveils chaotic new series: Influencer Alix Earle's family crashes her big announcement

Streaming giant Netflix has officially announced a new unscripted series, "Earle Meets World," starring social media sensation Alix Earle and her sprawling family.

The announcement came via a promotional teaser that started as a classic "Get Ready With Me" video before descending into lighthearted chaos, sparking a wave of divided opinions from viewers online.

A 'chaotic' family affair

Netflix sent social media into a spin with a teaser for its upcoming reality series, "Earle Meets World," centred on influencer Alix Earle and her family.

The announcement, posted to the streaming service's official Instagram account on 13 May, begins with Alix attempting to film a solo "Get Ready With Me" video to announce "my new Netflix show."

She is immediately corrected by her family, who swarm into the frame of the selfie-style shot, insisting it is "our" show.

Filmed inside what appears to be a modern home, the clip captures the disorderly dynamic of the Earle clan as they hilariously fail to get a perfect take.

For those unversed, Alix Earle is a major social media personality who rose to fame on TikTok with her candid GRWM videos.

Her influence on consumer trends, dubbed the "Alix Earle effect," has landed her on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list and led to a podcast called "Hot Mess."

The new series promises a look at her "modern family," including sister Ashtin, father TJ, mother Alisa, and stepmother Ashley Earle.

The show is being produced by Fulwell 73, the same company behind "The Kardashians," and aims to provide a deeper look into her life.

Alix herself has said it is "a little scary" to have someone else behind the camera but hopes sharing more of her real moments will resonate.

Fans are sharply divided

The announcement was met with sharply divided reactions in the comments section, revealing a split between loyal fans and sceptical newcomers.

Many of Earle's followers expressed immense excitement, with one user writing, "I will take PTO to watch the whole thing in one day," and another commenting, "EARLE MEETS WORLD.

Amazing title!!!" The enthusiasm was palpable among her supporters who are eager to see more of her life.

On the other side, many viewers were far more critical. "Hard fucking pass," one person bluntly commented, while another asked, "do people want this?" The teaser's authenticity was also questioned, with a user stating, "This seems fake already."

Some viewers drew immediate comparisons to other famous reality families, with one comment noting, "tell me u watched KUWTK season 1 intro without telling me u watched KUWTK season 1 intro lol."

Another user pointed out a moment of potential drama, writing, "Anybody else catch the red flag of Ashley Dupree telling her daughter she ruined the take… wtf," highlighting the kind of family tension that fuels the genre.

The show was unveiled as part of Netflix's 2026 upfront presentation, which also included news of a third "Grown Ups" film.

With "Earle Meets World" slated for release later this year, the chaotic teaser has certainly generated the buzz Netflix was hoping for, leaving fans to wonder if the family's unfiltered antics will win over the sceptics.
