‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor Nick Pasqual guilty in violent attack on former partner

Nick Pasqual is facing a potential life sentence after being convicted of attempting to murder his former girlfriend in a case that began in 2024 and concluded with a guilty verdict in 2026, authorities confirmed.

The actor, known for roles in projects including How I Met Your Mother, Archive 81, and Rebel Moon, was found guilty on multiple charges tied to a violent attack on makeup artist Allie Shehorn.

From on-screen roles to criminal trial

Pasqual appeared briefly in the long-running sitcom How I Met Your Mother in a 2011 episode, and later took on smaller roles across film and television, including Netflix’s Archive 81 and Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire.

Prosecutors said Pasqual and Shehorn met while working on Rebel Moon, where Shehorn worked in the makeup department. The two later entered into a relationship that Shehorn ultimately ended, later seeking a restraining order in May 2024.

Break-in and attempted murder case

Authorities say that just days after the restraining order was filed, Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home in the early hours of May 23, 2024, and launched a brutal attack that left her with life-threatening injuries.

Shehorn survived after undergoing extensive emergency surgeries. Her friends later described the scene as catastrophic, and prosecutors alleged the attack involved extreme violence and occurred in the context of domestic abuse.

Pasqual fled the scene after the incident and was later detained at a U.S.–Mexico border checkpoint in Texas. He was taken into custody and charged in connection with the attack.

Trial and conviction

Nearly two years later, Pasqual’s trial began in April 2026. On May 8, 2026, a jury found him guilty of attempted murder, residential burglary with a person present, and additional domestic violence-related charges.

Court records also indicate he was convicted of a separate count of forcible rape in an earlier incident involving the same victim.

He now faces the possibility of life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for June 2, 2026.

Where things stand now

Pasqual remains in custody awaiting sentencing. Prosecutors have said the case underscores the severity and escalation often seen in domestic violence situations.

Shehorn continues her recovery, with fundraising efforts helping cover extensive medical costs and ongoing care needs following the attack.
