Rapper Kodak Black faces new arrest amid ongoing legal troub

Rapper Kodak Black has been arrested for the second time in two weeks, marking another legal setback for the 28-year-old artist, whose real name is Bill Kapri.

According to authorities, Kapri was taken into custody on Thursday in Florida on charges of resisting an officer without violence and attempting to flee law enforcement. He was later booked into Broward County Jail, with both charges listed as pending trial.

Court documents cited by U.S. media stated that his bond was set at $0.

Following the arrest, Kapri’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, claimed the rapper was being “targeted,” describing the case as part of what he called a pattern of repeated investigations and arrests involving his client.

Cohen told TMZ that the latest incident amounted to a “self surrender” linked to an investigation that had reportedly taken months to develop, adding that he believes Kapri is “consistently being targeted.”

The latest arrest comes just days after Kapri was previously detained on May 6 on a felony charge of trafficking the drug MDMA following an incident in Orlando in November 2025.

In that earlier case, police responded to reports of gunfire near the Children’s Safety Village charity site. Officers later reported smelling marijuana coming from a vehicle during the investigation.

Authorities allege that Kapri approached officers at the scene, and a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of items including pink scissors, a ring and a firearm, which investigators said matched objects seen in the rapper’s social media posts.

Drugs were also allegedly recovered from the vehicle, leading to his arrest.

Kapri later appeared in court on May 7, where he pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial. The judge set bail at $75,000, citing his prior criminal record, which includes multiple felony and misdemeanor convictions as well as previous failures to appear in court.

He was later released after posting bond, according to local reports.

The case remains ongoing as Kapri faces multiple charges across separate incidents within a short period.
