Will Ferrell and David Beckham bring comedy to Lay’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign
A blooper reel captured the stars struggling to keep straight faces during filming
Will Ferrell, David Beckham, and Marshawn Lynch are bringing plenty of laughs to the road leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The trio teamed up for a new Lay’s campaign titled “Jump On, America,” encouraging fans to embrace the excitement surrounding the upcoming international soccer tournament even if they are not die-hard followers of the sport.
A newly released behind-the-scenes blooper reel captures the stars repeatedly breaking character while filming the commercial, with Ferrell and Lynch exchanging jokes and Beckham reacting to the actor’s exaggerated British accent attempts.
At one point in the clip, Ferrell jokingly says, “We can always bleep it,” as the set erupts into laughter during one of the outtakes. Other moments include the actor humorously speaking to a horse while Beckham struggles to contain his reaction.
The campaign arrives as anticipation builds for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
Ferrell said the campaign is designed to make soccer feel accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of knowledge about the sport.
“People love to pretend you have to pass some kind of test to enjoy the FIFA World Cup,” the actor said in a statement. “Lay’s is basically saying: forget that. Just jump on the bandwagon, grab some chips, and have fun.”
Lynch echoed the same message, saying fans do not need to understand every statistic or match detail to enjoy the atmosphere.
“Sometimes you're just chillin' with your folks, watching a game, and reaching for a bag of Lay’s,” the former NFL star said, adding that the campaign is all about embracing the moment.
As part of the promotion, Lay’s is also launching a “Bandwagon Tour” this summer, featuring fan activations, tastings, and appearances in cities including Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York City, all among the host locations tied to the 2026 tournament.
The campaign also highlights the brand’s globally inspired chip flavors, created to celebrate the international spirit of the World Cup as soccer fever continues to build ahead of next summer’s competition.
