Maura Higgins enlists former Strictly Come Dancing pro for US dance show prep

Reality TV personality Maura Higgins has turned to former Strictly Come Dancing pro Karen Hauer for assistance in preparing for the American version of the show.

The Love Island star is set to begin filming for Dancing with the Stars in the United States this July.

Meanwhile, she has kicked off her training sessions in London with Karen, 44, who was let go from the BBC1 programme earlier this year.

A source shared, “Maura is completely new to the world of dancing, so Karen has graciously agreed to guide her through the basics and get her started.

“Maura is keen to avoid being the first contestant eliminated, so she’s putting in the effort.

“She is determined to make a name for herself in America.”

Earlier in the year, Maura, 35, missed out on victory in the US rendition of The Traitors.

This week, we disclosed that Maura is stepping away from Love Island USA.

She expressed that she’s eager for a fresh beginning after three years.

In an interview with Vulture regarding a potential return to TV screens this summer, she stated: “You won’t see me. I’ve been involved for three years, and they’ll always be like family to me, but it feels like the right moment to venture into something new.

“I’m receiving some wonderful opportunities right now.

“I believe now is the time to bid farewell. However, I wouldn’t rule out a return indefinitely.”
